FAQ

Fair questions.

Didn’t find yours? Ask us. A real person replies.

Do I have to pay before I see anything?

No. We start with a free preview of your new homepage. If you like the direction, you pay a 50% deposit and we build the rest. The remaining 50% is due when the site is ready to go live. If the first full design doesn’t work for you, we refund the deposit.

How do I pay?

We send a secure invoice you can pay by card or PayPal. If you prefer, you can also order through a marketplace like Fiverr, which holds the payment until the work is delivered.

Do I own the website?

Yes. Your domain, your text, your photos and the site files belong to you. Hosting with us is optional. If you ever leave, we hand everything over.

Can I keep my online ordering or booking system?

Yes. We link or embed the tools you already use, such as Toast, Square, ChowNow, OpenTable, Resy, Jobber, Housecall Pro or Calendly, so nothing changes for your staff.

Who are you?

Plainspoken is a small, remote web studio that works with local businesses across the US. We use modern tools, including AI, to work quickly and keep prices low, and every site is designed, written and checked by a person before you see it.

Are the demo businesses real?

No. The demos are fictional businesses we built to show our work. Names, addresses, prices and reviews in them are samples, and photos are illustrative. Your site is built around your real business.

What do you need from me?

Your logo if you have one, a few photos, your services or menu, hours and contact details. Don’t have copy? We write it for you in plain English and you approve it.

How long does it take?

Most sites go live 5 to 10 days after we have your content. Custom projects get a written timeline with the quote.

What about my domain name?

Keep the one you have. We help you point it to the new site. If you need a new domain, you register it in your own name (usually $10–20 a year) so you always control it.

Will this get me to the top of Google?

Nobody honest can promise rankings. Every site comes with the local SEO basics done properly: fast pages, clear titles, a sitemap, structured data and a tuned Google Business Profile. That gives you a solid footing.

What if I need changes later?

The Care plan includes small monthly edits like hours, prices and menu updates. Without a plan, small changes are billed at a flat hourly rate agreed upfront.

When can I reach you?

Email any time. We reply within one business day, usually much sooner, and can schedule a call in US time zones.
